In the last month, I have been working with Ashler Design to update my website. The goal was to provide a clearer overview of the library and improve the customer journey. I wanted to make the experience better when licensing fonts from NTF. The mood and design changed only slightly because I was happy with them, but I wanted to bring a fresher look and an easier way to find and discover fonts.
Other changes are coming in the future, such as highlighting and selling separate Cyrillic and Greek fonts, and providing a Latin-only version. We want to make it easy to find the fonts that support different writing scripts. The roadmap also includes new typefaces that support Greek and Cyrillic. We would like to improve language support for our most successful fonts, such as Loretta.
The first version of the website was designed in 2018, and it has aged quite well and maintained great usability. This is why I continued working with Ashler Design and the amazing designer Elena Ramirez. She has an eye for detail and understands super well what you want; she knows her craft well and creates seamless experiences. What I like about working with Ashler and using their CMS is that you can customize it to your brand and make it more unique.
When I work on improving the website, I think about the client and how to make it easy for them to choose directly from my shop. My typefaces are available in a few other places, but here you can engage with the font more deeply.
We are also including Trial fonts in the new website. This is something I have been wanting to add for a long time. I look forward to getting the feedback on how people interact with the fonts this way. It is not fully functional for all fonts yet, but it will be soon.
Nova Type is a personal project and creative outlet, but nowadays I see it more as a service I provide to users and clients. The opportunity to engage with clients and users of this type drives me in my work. To create usable typefaces that stand the test of time and can be used in many flexible ways, from editorial to packaging. It’s what excites me. And investing time and your support back into improving your customer journey with better design makes sense to me to keep doing. This is why it’s good when you, as a client, acquire directly from the designer; it allows us to improve our service to you.
